Multimedia playback is fully supported on the Pantech Duo-C810

The Pantech Duo-C810 is a unique (and somewhat attractive) slider phone that has a few different modes of operation. The device’s front plate can be slid upwards into portrait mode for making phone calls or sideways into landscape mode for sending text messages with its full QWERTY keypad. These multiple uses make the Pantech Duo-C810 appeal to a wide variety of people, including the texter, the tech fan, and the average user.

The Pantech Duo-C810 is a quad band GSM device, so it can be used anywhere in the world simply by switching out your SIM card when you arrive at your destination. Furthermore, the Pantech Duo-C810 also offers access to the high speed 3G networks. Unfortunately, this support is limited only to the Americas. Accessing data in other parts of the world will be much slower.

Measuring in at approximately four inches by two inches by one inch, the Pantech Duo-C810 is a fairly large device. However, for a bigger phone, the Pantech Duo-C810 is surprisingly light – coming in at only 110 grams. Not bad for a phone with these many features and this large of a frame.

Battery life on the Pantech Duo-C810 is average at best. Expect to get approximately four hours of talk time or 250 hours of standby time on a single charge. About on par with the rest of the smartphone style designs on the market today.

The Pantech Duo-C810’s screen is a massive 2.2 inches in size. It is also capable of supporting 240 by 320 pixels of resolution and a color depth of 262k colors. Pretty good – but could be better compared to some of the more high end devices out there.

The Pantech Duo-C810 also features a built in camera with 1.3 megapixels of resolution, video support, a flash, and four times digital zoom. Like the screen, the Pantech Duo-C810’s digital camera could be better.

Multimedia playback is fully supported on the Pantech Duo-C810. A few of the more popular video formats are supported, along with most of the popular audio formats. Certainly more than what the average user could ask for. Furthermore, the built in 50 MB of memory can easily be expanded with a microSD card.

Other features include Microsoft Windows Mobile operating system, full QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth 1.2 support, a large phone book, an alarm, a calendar, a notepad, a to-do list, a calculator, a number of voice commands, a voice recorder, a speakerphone, and email support.

Pros

* Lots of features

* Appeals to a wide range of people

* 3G support

Cons

* Some features are lackluster

* Poor sound quality

* Decent battery life

Overall

The Pantech Duo-C810 is a phone that has an impressive number of features. However, the features are nothing to speak about. Also, some users report getting a faulty model in their hands. Apart from the flaws, this phone works well for texters and is a good choice if you are one.
